If you had an unlimited budget, what car would you make into an offroader? I mean proper conversion. Not a craigslist special, but a no expense spared job.

Unlimited off roaders are normally custom chassis, but I'll go with a Ferrari 288 GTO.

Now, I'm going to presume the 4x4 modifications includes a small generator to charge the battery a la the Volt. That way you can get to the trails and back.

You're now offroad, in the wilds, with a silent engine. One with nature.

You have 100% torque from zero rpm, so rock crawling is a breeze. You can use engine braking to recover energy, and by having 4 in wheel motors, you can control wheel speeds for a perfect traction control system. You could even make it zero steer!
